Fun Facts:

During some seasons, water sports such as sailing, motor sports, fishing and diving, are practiced in the Sisga Dam; from its base, the dam reaches 52 meters height, which allows visitors to dive.

The weather is typical of the Colombian Andes, about 59°F (15°C), so there is no need to wear a jacket.

Vegetation is planted forests and meadows for grazing. During the tour we will see cypress pine, patula pine and trees of the Andean forest. We will also find “siete cueros”, alders, mosses and “frailejon”. The frailejon is typical of the Paramo (Andean moor).

The Sisga Dam is not natural, as it is believed. It was a three-year project that was delivered in 1951. It was built to prevent flooding in the Savanna and to store water during the rainy season in order to supply Bogotá during droughts.
